Empty Nest & Retirement Years

Getting Ready For A Great Retirement
This one-day seminar is designed for couples 40-60 years of age who have just begun
to think about what they could do after they retire.  Unlike many other retirement seminars,
this will NOT focus on financial issues.  Instead, it will focus on the social, intellectual,
physical and spiritual issues involved in a retired couple's life.  Short exercises will be
included to get couples thinking about some of these issues in their own lives.
Personal Assessment topics include:
1.  Getting To Know Me
2.  Time For Exploration & Discovery
Opportunities discussed include:
1.  Volunteering
2.  Education and travel
3.  The Power of Friendships
Challenges discussed include:
1.  Once A Parent, Always A Parent
2.  The Post Retirement Marriage

Based on the book "Getting Ready For a Great Retirement," by Barbara Deane,
Dick & Carol Cronk will also include personal illustrations of their own retirement
experience.  For more information about scheduling a seminar, call 937-890-7078
or click on cronkra@erinet.com to send an email.  Title your email "Great Retirement."

The Second Half of Marriage-Facing The 8 Challenges Of Every Long-Term
Marriage
Couples in this one-day workshop receive and use the book "The Second Half of
Marriage," by David & Claudia Arp.  It challenges couples to reinvent their marriage,
make mid-course adjustments, and to reconnect with one another in a more meaningful
way.  So, if your nest is about to empty, is empty, or should be empty, join us as we
talk about these challenges:
1.  Letting go of past marital disappointments, forgiving each other and committing
to make the rest of your marriage the best.
2.  Creating a marriage that is partner-focused, rather than child-focused.
3.  Maintaining an effective communication system that allows you to express your
deepest feelings, joys and concerns.
4.  Using anger and conflict in a creative way to build your relationship.
5.  Building a deeper friendship and enjoying your spouse.
6.  Renewing romance and restoring a pleasurable sexual relationship.
7.  Adjusting to changing roles with aging parents and adult children.
8.  Evaluating where you are on your spiritual pilgrimage, growing closer to each
other and to God, and together serving others.
